“The days dwindle down to a precious few.” Although these lyrics are from September Song, it certainly is relevant to the closing of 2020.
Weather in Florida is like none other, that I have experienced anyway. This morning the sun is shining on droplets of morning dew, sparkling like diamonds, left from the nighttime fairies. Scattered through the liriope, shrubs, and blooming plants who seem to thirst for the moist attention. My plants around the pool miss these delicacies…but they get plenty of attention from me 😉
The setting is a beautiful one with bamboo, palms, palmettos, pines and a few large white oaks. It’s a serene backdrop for listening to song birds calling each other, watching the squirrels fly from limb limb, butterflies flying to the sky and listening to the coos of mourning doves. The quietness is a blessing. While sitting beside the pool in the cool morning air, stillness is found as the hustle of the season remains outside my domain.
As the days dwindle down to the awaited celebration of The Greatest Gift, prayers for peace continue. May we love one another through all the adversity our country is experiencing.
While watching a few leaves drift slowly to their resting place and the palm fronds sway in the gentle breeze, my wish is that you may find your happy place. Quiet and still to rejoice in what we have, for every day is a gift, if we just listen.
